Climate Change Triage is 'for the birds'

By Bob - Posted on 20 August 2008

Hi
The ornithologists seem to have been discussing the idea of triage to respond to climate change issues as far as they affect bird pattern changes for a while... for example the Cornell Lab of Ornithology link at http://birdsredesign.wordpress.com/2008/08/07/thursday-does-our-climate-...
has a summary about this including saying:

Many species face extinction as warming outpaces their ability to adapt or to move – particularly for species that butt up against a geographic limit, such as at the poles or high on mountains. Pikas – small, rabbit-like animals that live alongside rosy-finches in high-elevation boulder fields – have no place left to go; they are essentially already extinct.

Yeah -- what do you do when the place/climate you want to move to no longer exists?
