Dear Governor Crist
Dr Peter Maier of the USA says
If the Government would recognize that the use of fossil fuel is not sustainable and would set the goal to achieve a hydrogen-based energy economy by 2020 or earlier, it would not only stimulate biochemical and physical research, but additional development of using hydrogen gas in stead of fossil fuel (already possible, but not yet economical).
Remember that when the kerosene lamp was invented, kerosene itself was probably more than $20 a gallon.
When the government would set such a clear goal, it also would shift “speculative money” now causing the oil and staple future markets to skyrocket, to such research and development and this consequently would drop these future markets prices, now estimated by 30 to 40%. It would also make the country independent of foreign oil, but more important it would awaken the innovative giant the USA used to be.
Let's hope Mr Obama and Mr McCain are listening!
